Easy Halloween: 5 Costumes Built From a Single Color and basic garments

The Halloween party is next week and your costume is nowhere to be found. Sound familiar?

Don't panic! You can create a clever, high-impact costume with one simple trick: commit to a single, bold color. Building your look around one color is easy, budget-friendly, and looks incredibly cool. It's the perfect way to use our basics to create something memorable without the stress.

Here are five color concepts to get you started.

1. Go All-Out with RED

Red is the color of passion, danger, and fun. It grabs everyone's attention.

What you'll need:Red or Scarlet Red - Tights and a Leotard.

Become a Devil: Add a pair of horns and a pitchfork. Done.

Become a Strawberry: Attach some white or black paper "seeds" to your outfit and top it off with a green beret or headband for the stem.

Become a Lobster: All you need are some red kitchen gloves for claws and a pair of antennae on a headband.

2. Shine Bright in YELLOW

Yellow is cheerful, energetic, and impossible to miss.

What you'll need:Yellow or Neon Yellow - tights and bodysuit.

Become a Bumblebee: Add black tape for stripes, a pair of wings, and some pipe-cleaner antennae.

Become a Minion: Wear your yellow base under a pair of overalls and add some big, round goggles.

Become the Sun: Craft a crown of cardboard sun-rays and cover yourself in gold glitter. You are now the center of the solar system.

3. Get Creative with GREEN

Green can be anything from natural and earthy to alien and supernatural.

What you'll need:Kelly Green or Emerald - Tights and a Long-Sleeved Leotard.

Become a Green M&M: This might be the easiest costume ever. Just print out a big white "m" and tape it to your chest.

Become Poison Ivy: Get some fake ivy vines from a craft store and wrap them around your arms and legs.

Become a Lizard: Create a simple, long tail out of fabric or craft foam and pin it on.

4. Dive Deep with BLUE
Blue is a versatile color, perfect for everything from pop culture icons to creative concepts.

What you'll need:Royal or Sky Blue -Tights , and a Leotard.

Become Cookie Monster: Get a bag of cookies and carry it around all night. To be extra authentic, attach some googly eyes to a blue beanie.

Become a Rain Cloud: Use fabric glue to attach white pillow stuffing (polyfill) to your torso and hang paper raindrops from your arms with string.

Become a Member of Blue Man Group: This one is all about the attitude. Just add blue face paint.

5. Be Magical in PURPLE
Purple often feels magical, royal, and a little bit mysterious.

What you'll need:Purple or Lilac, Tights and a Bodysuit.

Become a Bunch of Grapes: A classic DIY! Pin purple balloons all over your outfit and wear a green leaf or stem on your head.

Become the Cheshire Cat: Add some light pink stripes with fabric tape and, most importantly, a huge, mischievous grin.

Become a Potion: Cut a tag out of cardboard, write "Potion" or "Poison" on it, and hang it around your neck.
